Jeffrey A. Raday, P.E., President of McShane Construction Company, is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected by developer, The Bainbridge Companies, to construct Campus Circle Urbana, a new student housing project adjacent to the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Headquartered in Wellington, Florida and Bethesda, Maryland, The Bainbridge Companies is a fully integrated family of real estate companies engaged in the development, construction, management and acquisition of residential and commercial real estate.
The 276,000 square foot, five-story, 524-bed apartment complex will be located at 1010 West University Avenue in Urbana, Illinois. McShane Construction is currently underway with the project that will be completed in April 2016.
Campus Circle – Urbana will feature a modern design utilizing an artful blend of brick, cement siding and exterior panels. Offering 181 apartments, students can select from one-, two- and four-bedroom configurations with each bedroom incorporating a private bathroom. Interior living spaces will include a mix of contemporary fixtures and finishes such as granite countertops, modern appliances and in-unit washers and dryers.
The assignment also includes 2,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and an adjacent five-story, 101,000 square foot, access-controlled parking garage accommodating up to 291 vehicles. As part of the project, McShane will complete an expansive technology package providing Wi-Fi Internet connectivity throughout the entire property.
McShane Construction will additionally construct the development’s on-site leasing office and over 13,500 square feet of student amenities including a gym, yoga studio, game room, media center, tanning bed areas and communal kitchen. The rooftop of the development’s communal area will provide a sizable patio for residents and guests. An outdoor swimming pool and kitchen located within the property’s courtyard will support additional outdoor entertainment space.
